07 May Is Jesus in the past or in the present?

EXODUS 3:14:

[14] God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

God the almighty declared about Himself with: 

“I AM WHO I AM”.

IT’S MEAN THAT HE IS ALWAYS LIVING IN THE PRESENT TIME, 

THERE IS NO PAST, THERE IS NO FUTURE, BUT ALWAYS AS “I AM”.

Our faith in God is always present or now

HEBREW 11:1:

[1] Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

THE EXISTENCE OF ALMIGHTY GOD, AND OUR FAITH IN HIM IS ALWAYS IN PRESENT TIME, NEVER BE IN THE PAST, AND NEVER WILL IN THE FUTURE 

Now let we see what Jesus said that He also always say “I AM” or as present time forever 

I. “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE”

YOHANES 6:32-33:

1. Maka kata Yesus kepada mereka: “Aku berkata kepadamu, sesungguhnya bukan Musa yang memberikan kamu roti dari sorga, melainkan Bapa-Ku yang memberikan kamu roti yang benar dari sorga. 
2. Karena roti yang dari Allah ialah roti yang turun dari sorga dan yang memberi hidup kepada dunia.”

They thought Jesus will do like Moses did that He will give them natural bread to eat that come down from heaven, and like Jesus did to give the bread for 5000 people 

YOHANES 6:34:

Maka kata mereka kepada-Nya: “Tuhan, berikanlah kami roti itu senantiasa.”

What Jesus talking to them is not about the physical bread but about His own body as the bread of life from heaven 

JOHN 6:35:

[35] Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

YOHANES 6:35:

Kata Yesus kepada mereka: “Akulah roti hidup; barangsiapa datang kepada-Ku, ia tidak akan lapar lagi, dan barangsiapa percaya kepada-Ku, ia tidak akan haus lagi.

Jesus said: “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE; IT’S NOT I WAS, AND NOT I WILL BE”

II. “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD”

JOHN 8:12:

[12] Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Jesus is always being the light of the world in every season and in every situation of the world.

As the believers of Jesus we can not get cough by the darkness of the world; because we have the light of the world living in you

MATIUS 5:14-16:

1. Kamu adalah terang dunia. Kota yang terletak di atas gunung tidak mungkin tersembunyi. 
2. Lagipula orang tidak menyalakan pelita lalu meletakkannya di bawah gantang, melainkan di atas kaki dian sehingga menerangi semua orang di dalam rumah itu. 
3. Demikianlah hendaknya terangmu bercahaya di depan orang, supaya mereka melihat perbuatanmu yang baik dan memuliakan Bapamu yang di sorga.“

We can’t generate light by ourselves, we just a reflector, we are reflecting the light of God in us, and through us.

We have to keep our life reflector as clean as possible in order to reflect the light in us more and more brighter 

III. “I AM THE DOOR”

John 10:7-10:

[7] So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 

[8] All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 

[9] I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 

[10] The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

YOHANES 10:7-10:

1. Maka kata Yesus sekali lagi: “Aku berkata kepadamu, sesungguhnya Akulah pintu ke domba-domba itu. 
2. Semua orang yang datang sebelum Aku, adalah pencuri dan perampok, dan domba-domba itu tidak mendengarkan mereka. 
3. Akulah pintu; barangsiapa masuk melalui Aku, ia akan selamat dan ia akan masuk dan keluar dan menemukan padang rumput. 
4. Pencuri datang hanya untuk mencuri dan membunuh dan membinasakan; Aku datang, supaya mereka mempunyai hidup, dan mempunyainya dalam segala kelimpahan.

While the shepherd brings all the sheep go trough the field and looking for the green pasture, The shepherd will make sheep pant for the sheep get rest in the night time, and the sheep pant don’t have a door, in nigh time the shepherd will lay down himself at the sheep pant as a door with his staff and rod in his hands, and there is non can come in or going out with out passing by the shepherd 

The shepherd doing this for protection for all sheep from wild animals that could harm them 

IV. “I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD”

John 10:11:

[11] I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

YOHANES 10:11:

Akulah gembala yang baik. Gembala yang baik memberikan nyawanya bagi domba-dombanya;

A. THE GOOD SHEPHERD LOVES HIS SHEEP 

MAZMUR 23:1:

1. Mazmur Daud. TUHAN adalah gembalaku, takkan kekurangan aku. 

I love the koi fish and we used to have a small pond at the back yard of our house in Bali.

I love them and every day I always feeding them through my hand.

We also have gurame and nila fish.

When they are big enough, we couched them and fry them, but I can’t eat them because I loved them. 

B. THE GOOD SHEPHERD LEADS HIS SHEEP 

MAZMUR 23:2:

Ia membaringkan aku di padang yang berumput hijau, Ia membimbing aku ke air yang tenang;

What we should do as a sheep?

Stay as close as we can to our shepherd. 

The good shepherd purpose is not a place or achievement for himself to enjoy himself, but he loves to brings us his sheep to a process that makes us obey Him by willingly on the whole of our life journey.

The Destiny is something that God had  been determined for us to have it by His timeline and through His way. 

C. THE GOOD SHEPHERD LAYS DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS SHEEP 

JOHN 10:11:

[11] I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

YOHANES 10:11:

Akulah gembala yang baik. Gembala yang baik memberikan nyawanya bagi domba-dombanya;

YOHANES 10:15:

sama seperti Bapa mengenal Aku dan Aku mengenal Bapa, dan Aku memberikan nyawa-Ku bagi domba-domba-Ku.

YOHANES 10:17-18:

1. Bapa mengasihi Aku, oleh karena Aku memberikan nyawa-Ku untuk menerimanya kembali. 
2. Tidak seorangpun mengambilnya dari pada-Ku, melainkan Aku memberikannya menurut kehendak-Ku sendiri. Aku berkuasa memberikannya dan berkuasa mengambilnya kembali. Inilah tugas yang Kuterima dari Bapa-Ku.”

V. “I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE”

JOHN 11:25-26:

[25] Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 

[26] and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

The more complete story:

YOHANES 11:21-26:

1. Maka kata Marta kepada Yesus: “Tuhan, sekiranya Engkau ada di sini, saudaraku pasti tidak mati. 
2. Tetapi sekarangpun aku tahu, bahwa Allah akan memberikan kepada-Mu segala sesuatu yang Engkau minta kepada-Nya.” 
3. Kata Yesus kepada Marta: “Saudaramu akan bangkit.” 
4. Kata Marta kepada-Nya: “Aku tahu bahwa ia akan bangkit pada waktu orang-orang bangkit pada akhir zaman.” 
5. Jawab Yesus: “Akulah kebangkitan dan hidup; barangsiapa percaya kepada-Ku, ia akan hidup walaupun ia sudah mati, 
6. dan setiap orang yang hidup dan yang percaya kepada-Ku, tidak akan mati selama-lamanya. Percayakah engkau akan hal ini?”

FILIPI 3:20-21:

1. Karena kewargaan kita adalah di dalam sorga, dan dari situ juga kita menantikan Tuhan Yesus Kristus sebagai Juruselamat, 
2. yang akan mengubah tubuh kita yang hina ini, sehingga serupa dengan tubuh-Nya yang mulia, menurut kuasa-Nya yang dapat menaklukkan segala sesuatu kepada diri-Nya.

VI. “I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE”

There is only one way to come to almighty God, and that is through Jesus Christ 

John 14:6:

[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14:6

Kata Yesus kepadanya: “Akulah jalan dan kebenaran dan hidup. Tidak ada seorangpun yang datang kepada Bapa, kalau tidak melalui Aku.

VII. “I AM THE TRUE VINE”

JOHN 15:1-2:

[1] “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 

[2] Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 

JOHN 15:5

[5] I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing

The more complete story:

YOHANES 15:1-11:

1. ”Akulah pokok anggur yang benar dan Bapa-Kulah pengusahanya. 
2. Setiap ranting pada-Ku yang tidak berbuah, dipotong-Nya dan setiap ranting yang berbuah, dibersihkan-Nya, supaya ia lebih banyak berbuah. 
3. Kamu memang sudah bersih karena firman yang telah Kukatakan kepadamu. 
4. Tinggallah di dalam Aku dan Aku di dalam kamu. Sama seperti ranting tidak dapat berbuah dari dirinya sendiri, kalau ia tidak tinggal pada pokok anggur, demikian juga kamu tidak berbuah, jikalau kamu tidak tinggal di dalam Aku. 
5. Akulah pokok anggur dan kamulah ranting-rantingnya. Barangsiapa tinggal di dalam Aku dan Aku di dalam dia, ia berbuah banyak, sebab di luar Aku kamu tidak dapat berbuat apa-apa.
6. Barangsiapa tidak tinggal di dalam Aku, ia dibuang ke luar seperti ranting dan menjadi kering, kemudian dikumpulkan orang dan dicampakkan ke dalam api lalu dibakar. 
7. Jikalau kamu tinggal di dalam Aku dan firman-Ku tinggal di dalam kamu, mintalah apa saja yang kamu kehendaki, dan kamu akan menerimanya. 
8. Dalam hal inilah Bapa-Ku dipermuliakan, yaitu jika kamu berbuah banyak dan dengan demikian kamu adalah murid-murid-Ku.” 
9. “Seperti Bapa telah mengasihi Aku, demikianlah juga Aku telah mengasihi kamu; tinggallah di dalam kasih-Ku itu. 
10. Jikalau kamu menuruti perintah-Ku, kamu akan tinggal di dalam kasih-Ku, seperti Aku menuruti perintah Bapa-Ku dan tinggal di dalam kasih-Nya. 
11. Semuanya itu Kukatakan kepadamu, supaya sukacita-Ku ada di dalam kamu dan sukacitamu menjadi penuh.

The only way we will bear fruits is when we are always plugged in to the vine, and never be apart from the vine.

When we are being apart from God; just like a branch being apart from the vine, we will not do anything to glorify God, in fact we will perishing slowly but surely until we dry up and dead.

There is time when the part of the vine is cut from the branch which is during pruning.

Pruning is the action of God’s love to us in order to bring us more and more be like Him and bears so much fruits to glorifying God. Amen
