24 Jul Is Jesus praying for us or are we praying to him?

Jesus is 100% a man and 100% God at the same time who care so much to His people.

He cares to us much more than We care for ourself. 

He cares for the outcast the lepers 

He cares for the children 

He care for the sinful Samaritan woman who live in adultery

He care for the death of Lazarus

He care for all the DYING of humanity 

At His dying on the cross he still care so much for a thief beside him

1 PETER 5:7:

[7] casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

After Finished His Work on the cross Jesus  continue His Work and sitting on beside the Father doing prayer intercession for us

ROMANS 8:33-34:

[33] Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 

[34] Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

Beside interceding for us, Jesus is act as our eternally High Priest.

HEBRRES 7:23-25:

[23] The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, 

[24] but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. 

[25] Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

My late mother was always praying for me everyday, now is my wife, my children, my prayer team, my spiritual children. 

In the Bible, John chapter 17 is the verses that the longes Jesus’ prayer ever written.

This is The holy ground of the Bible 

JOHN 17: 1-5 : Jesus praying for Himself as a high priest of God

JOHN 17: 6-26 : Jesus praying for all of His disciples and including us

I. JESUS CARE AND PRAYING FOR YOUR SECURITY 

JOHN 17:11-15:

[11] And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 

[12] While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 

[13] But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 

[14] I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 

[15] I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.

While Jesus living on earth, He guards us with His name, and not one of His sheep has been get lost.

After Jesus Rose from the death, He seat at the Right hand of God, and praying interceding for us always, and never ceasing.

Jesus praying to the Father to keep us from the evil one while We are living on earth

The word to Keep is to guard or watching over through 

something 

Beside the word of God and the Spirit of God that has been given to us, and Jesus Himself are praying to the Father to protect us from evil. 

Devil is accuser of the brethren 

LUKE 22:31-32:

[31] “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 

[32] but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

The devil is always try to deceit us through His lying and make us to do the wrong things

Jesus let Peter fail by the devil but not let Peter destroy by the devil.

Jesus pray for Peter to wining from devil and encourage the brothers

II. JESUS CARE AND PRAYING FOR YOUR SUFFICIENCY

JOHN 17:13:

[13] But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

Jesus had given His own Joy for us to live in it

“HAPPINESS IS SOMETING HAPPEN TO US BASE ON WHAT HAPPENING ARROUND US. 

JOY IS SOMETING HAPPEN TO US  BASED ON THE WORK OF JESUS, AND NOT ONLY JOY BUT JESUS GIVES US HIS SHALOM.

SHALOM IS PEACE AND JOY BEYOND UNSPEAKABLE CIRCUMSTANCES”

ROMANS 14:17:

[17] For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

When We have Jesus in our life, the source of Joy reside in us and we ought to be the most joyful people on earth.

III. JESUS IS CARE AND PRAYING FOR YOUR MATURITY

We can only become growing to maturity after we were born. 

We born again by the spirit of God is what we call SALVATION or JUSTIFICATION that only can be done by the GRACE of God.

After We were being JUSTIFIED, We need to grow to MATURITY.

The proccess We grow is SANCTIFICATION 

JOHN 17:17:

[17] Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.

Sanctification is a proccess to make become MATURED IN HOLINESS; AND HOLY IS SEPARATION FROM ALL THING OF THE WORLD THAT CAN DEFILE US. 

We are living holy on earth by separating our way of thinking and doing not according the world but according to the word of God

When we live govern By the word of God, we will grow in spiritual maturity, and the Wisdom of God reside in us. And it’ll manifesting in our way of thinking, speaking and behaviour in our daily life. 

IV. JESUS IS PRAYING FOR YOUR MINISTRY

JOHN 17:18-19:

[18] As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 

[19] And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

Jesus is missionary sent by the Father from heaven to the world. 

As the Father sent Jesus, now Jesus sent us as missionary to the whole world 

Jesus praying for you when you doing something in your daily activities including your ministry.

V. JESUS IS PRAYING FOR YOUR UNITY

JOHN 17:20-21:

[20] “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 

[21] that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

Jesus is praying for our Unity as He is with the Father and the Holy Spirit 

JOHN 17:22-23:

[22] The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 

[23] I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

When We are living our lives in Unity We will glorifying God 

VI. JESUS IS PRAYING FOR YOUR DESTINY 

JOHN 17:24:

[24] Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

Jesus wants us to be with Him more than we want to be with Him

“OUR DESTINY IS NOT ONLY TO BE LIKE JESUS, BUT ALSO TO BE WITH JESUS FOREVER AND EVER”

JOHN 14:1-3:

[1] “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 

[2] In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Ephesians 2:5-6:

[5] even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

[6] and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

We are praying to Jesus, but Jesus is praying to the Father for us right now and always to be with Him in eternity. Amen.
