Ephesians 5:15 states “Look carefully then how you walk….”

Notice that Paul urges us to look carefully then HOW we walk – not where we walk.

As God’s children, we are in His light and that’s where we are. We have right standing before God.
No doubt. If you read the earlier verses, Paul tells us to imitate God in all that we do because we are His dear children (verse 1). We don’t imitate God so that we can be His children – we do what He does because WE ARE His children, because we bear His name and identity.

Paul instructs us to look carefully how we walk…
Are we walking as fools or those who are wise? The book of Proverbs teaches a lot about life, especially on wisdom.

“The ear that listens to life-giving reproof (criticism, admonition) will dwell among the wise. Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.” Proverbs 15:31-32
Do we love rebuke and instructions? Do we have a teachable spirit? Or are we too prideful to receive correction? I love what the Bible has got to say in relation to this.
“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1

“Life is a sum of all your choices”– is a quote by Albert Camus. I think it is true to a certain extent.

We start with God (saved, redeemed) — Yeay! What about the choices that we make after we receive Christ? Are we still walking, being led and guided by Him? Do we allow Him to shape us? Are we still willing to trust and obey God when He leads us to “new territory” – something that we don’t like to do or don’t want to go?

The choices that we make in life do determine where we will go in life, whether we will be in God’s will or not.

This Potter’s Hand song reminds us to have an open heart and willingness for God to take, mould, use, fill, call, guide, lead, and walk with us – and in surrendering our life to the Potter’s hand.
