In this Season of Unusual Kindness, I’d like to share with you a new song released by Hillsong Australia from their Young and Free album called – Sinking Deep. What I love about this song is that it sounded the overflowing love of Jesus over us, who are imperfect and full of sin. This extravagant goodness, mercy and unending grace of God which is pour out to us, stir our hearts to freely come and enter His presence – His secret place, where we are able to meet Him face to face.

When I continually listen to this song, the word – “Relentless” keeps ringing in my head and God spoke to me through this one simple word. And if this is your first time seeing or hearing this word, you may think and wonder what this strange word means.

To relieve your curiosity, Relentless simply means – persistent, non-stop, never ceasing, constant, and continual.  I found a good way of explaining relentless from the internet: vocabulary.com in which I will quote, “When you’re relentless about something, you mean business. You’re not stopping until you get what you want, and you’re not taking “no” for an answer. People might try to steer you from your goal, but you have eyes only for the prize and they’re just going to have to get out of your way.”

THIS IS what God’s love and grace is that was shed for you and I through the Cross. Our God, the Father relentlessly pursuing us, His lost children by sending His one and begotten Son, JESUS to have an everlasting relationship with Him.

“In our fallen imperfection, He will never stop loving us!”

In the Bible, King David who is like us, had made many wrong decisions and fallen into sins. But he chose to repent and lift his eyes up to his God, our Salvation. Knowing that all fear removed in His throne of mercy. Psalms 23:6 (ESV) says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”  I love how King David places the word – surely and follow in this verse, which can be translated to relentlessly pursuing.

So wherever you may be today – lost, valley low, darkest night, or a sinful place; I pray for an open heart to receive God’s relentless mercy and grace.
