21 Feb Change your perspective & you will change your life
I want to share with you in the area of change your perspective and you will change your life. Back in 2008 in Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew was interview and they were asking him about when he first became Prime Minister, when Singapore and Malaysia separated. The whole discussion of the interview was on the topic of complacency, he was referring to the mental attitude of people in Singapore at that time when discussion was came up shall Singapore and Malaysia separate from the British, but there was complacency in their mind. The nation felt like they should come out from British rule, and begin to stand on their own, but many in Singapore who had the mentality of “let’s just leave things the way they are”. The interviewer asked him what was the greatest challenge that he faced to which he answered it was really not communism or corruption but the mindset of the people. Complacency!
Complacency is not good. How do we drift into complacency? Because we can start off on fire with God, then we arrived at the place of safety and said “no worries, the government will take care of it”.
Complacency is the inter-relation in which a subject or its parts are mentally viewed. In other words, how do you see things, rightly or wrongly are perspective is truth, even though it may not be true. An American journalist Timothy White once said “you need to have a redesign”. We need a redesign inside of us, because familiarity also can bring contempt. We can become familiar with the things of God, we can become familiar with singing and worship. Complacency can creep in even to the person who is most on fire for God.
Proverbs 23:7
Our mind and thinking pattern will mould our lives. The real question we must ask ourselves is how big and how real is our God. Jesus is a lifestyle not a religion! Don’t let complacency to come in and to rob the fire and the passion for God. Come to a place that is not routine.
A. J. Torso “because there has been a lost of the concept of the majesty of God in the religious mind, the church has surrendered to her once lofty concept of God to accept a substitute for something that is low”. In other words, the world around me is not God-centred, it centered on needs, success, even sometimes on spiritual gifts. Yes these are important, but they shouldn’t be the primary focus.
Today so many people take God for granted! Sometimes we think God as our butler, we give Him instructions to do this and that for us. On the hand, there are some of us who think that God is holding a big stick waiting for us to make mistake to punish us. That is not our God. We need to regain the awe of God. That sense of majesty of God, His divine and holy presence. We become so familiar with the things that we lose the awe of worship. The false ideas become distorted thoughts and create a stronghold in our lives and minds. Spiritual strongholds in our mind is made up of an accumulation of wrong thoughts that disagree with God and agree with satan.
Nothing is impossible with a mighty awesome God of heaven. He can do exceedingly and abundantly above all I ask or think. That means you cannot have a stronghold of the negative idea of how small God is. Our perspective of God change our lives, it impacts how we do business and how we pray. God is looking into our hearts what our perspective of Him. This will impact our lives through and through.
Revelation 1:12-17
I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone “like a son of man,” dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last.
Isaiah 6:1-3
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” God can change your life and turn your life around. You need an encounter with God.
Psalm 89:6-7
For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD ? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. Acts 2:1-3 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. God began to show up because people entered in to honour, waiting upon Him.
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Revelation 4:8
Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
Revelation 5:9-14
And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12In a loud voice they sang: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped. Jesus loves you so much that He does not want you to lose out now. He wants you in victory now.
